A pathway for identification and support for children in our school.
Ketton CE Primary School’s Inclusion Policy 2024-2026 (below) aims to ensure that all children, regardless of ethnicity, attainment, age, disability, gender, or background, have the opportunity to achieve their full potential. The school values the individuality of each child and takes account of their varied life experiences and needs. It offers a broad and balanced curriculum with high expectations for all children and promotes excellence and determination in the acquisition of knowledge and skills.
The policy aims to develop pupils’ potential, promote positive relationships, and ensure a stimulating learning environment. It outlines the roles and responsibilities of the SENDCo, SEND Governor, and Head Teacher in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The policy also prioritises the well-being of pupils, staff, and parents.
Our school has a three-tiered approach to supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Tier 1 is High Quality Teaching, Tier 2 involves adaptions to teaching based on bespoke Learning Profiles, and Tier 3 includes all of Tier 1 and Tier 2 plus specific support based on professional reports as detailed on the child’s provision map. The school collaborates with families, support services, and agencies to identify and address SEND needs, ensuring all students, including those with disabilities, are fully supported.
The policy should be read with the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Code of Conduct, SEND Information Report, and Local Offer.
