Welcome
A very warm welcome to
Ketton Church of England Primary School.
“Success for all”
Successful, confident, responsible and reflective individuals who are equipped to thrive in modern Britain.
Encapsulated by Our Christian Values:
Forgiveness Honesty Kindness Unselfishness
"Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7
Our school is situated in the heart of Ketton village, in the County of Rutland. We are close to the Lincolnshire border and near to the historic town of Stamford. We are a popular and expanding school.
We are very proud of our school, our staff team and, of course, our children!
At Ketton School we recognise that every child is special and unique. In order to provide an excellent education, we aim for children to enjoy their learning and to develop a wide range of skills in order to progress with enthusiasm and determination. Our children are encouraged to understand that learning is a lifelong process. We also aim for children to develop a wide range of personal skills in order to mature as confident individuals, able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives. We are mindful that the world is becoming increasingly smaller in terms of communication and interaction. We teach children to become responsible citizens who will make positive contributions to society; locally, nationally and globally.
We have seven classes, situated in warm, welcoming classrooms. Several areas are available for small group learning activities. Our large, spacious hall is used for daily acts of worship, enjoying lunch together and for P.E., drama and after school activities, such as multi-sports and trampoline club.
We hope you enjoy visiting our website and that it gives you a ‘flavour’ of what we offer here at Ketton. Do come and visit us; you will be made very welcome.
The Rutland Learning Trust (RLT)
Working Together
Sustaining Excellence
Transforming Learning
In September 2013 Whissendine CE Primary, St Nicholas CEVA Primary and Ketton CE Primary began working together in a formalised collaboration in order to create a Multi-Academy Trust (The Rutland Learning Trust) across the schools. Our Trust is now made up of 13 schools across Rutland and Northamptonshire.
As a dedicated team of teachers, support staff, Directors, parents and carers we work with love, professionalism and commitment on behalf of and with the pupils of all our schools to provide educational provision of the very highest quality. By ‘Working Together to Sustain Excellence and Transform Learning’ we believe that we can improve outcomes for our children - today, tomorrow and in the future.
Our shared vision and aims provide us with a robust self-evaluation framework through which we aim to develop every aspect of the children within our school. Our aims are deliberately positive and, we believe, encompass the structure, goals and Christian values we all share. They are a result of widespread consultations with all stakeholders.
Our Christian Ethos
Christian values and practice are at the heart of our shared life as Church of England Schools and they shape an enquiring and respectful approach to everything around us. We have strong, well established links with our local churches who contribute regularly to our schools programmes and we seek to learn about and from other faith-traditions in today’s world.
Across The Rutland Learning Trust we encourage our pupils to be inquisitive and passionate about their learning. We strive to develop confident, creative, self-assured, positive young people who love to learn, to contribute and to achieve.
Our inclusive learning environment also teaches our pupils to celebrate differences, help one another and promote a culture of tolerance and mutual respect. Our vision for each child is that they will work towards their personal best, in a caring atmosphere, which reflects the Christian values of our Academy. We encourage a strong community spirit, where we show consideration and support for each other and understand differences.
We have a dynamic and high performing team. There is tremendous team spirit - we are all committed to the success of each of our Academies and we always seek to put the children’s best interests first.
“Ketton provides its pupils with an outstanding quality of education so that they become imaginative and enthusiastic learners, soaring academically and personally. Pupils bubble with the excitement of learning and discovery.” OFSTED
We seek high levels of attainment and achievement in the core subjects and across a broad, creative curriculum, including a full suite of visits and visitors. Memorable learning experiences are at the heart of all we do. Every child deserves to be successful and our role is to help them blossom and believe everything is possible!
Ketton Church of England Primary School is committed to protecting and safeguarding children. As such, we are a partner in Operation Encompass. This is a national initiative to improve outcomes for children and families affected by domestic violence and abuse.
