Term 3

Term 3 - Lockdown 



This term our topic is 'Vicious Vikings'.  We will be learning all about the Viking and Anglo-Saxon struggle for the Kingdom of England to the time of Edward the Confessor.



Our class read this term will be: The 1000 Year Old Boy by Ross Welford.  We will use this as a stimulus to support our journalistic writing and creating our own Norse legend.



This term children will draw on their understanding of number and place value in order to calculate with decimals. They will learn to multiply and divide decimals by multiples of 10, 100 and 1,000; convert between fractions and decimals; and multiply and divide decimals by whole numbers. The learning from this unit will support children in calculating with measures, particularly converting between standard units, and it will support their understanding of fractions, decimals and percentages, and how they are related. 



We will be learning all about Buddhism, how and why Buddha's teachings have meaning today.



This term we will be focusing on inheritance and evolution.  The children will learn all about adaptions and how animals have evolved into what we know today.
