A Happy New Year to you all and welcome back to Term 3!
We are looking forward to another exciting term ahead. During our first few days back at school we will focus on our new learning behaviour – Being Responsible, whilst still thinking about being Respectful and Ready to learn. We will look at what being responsible means – taking care, working with others, making a good plan and looking after each other and our environment.
Our topic this Term will be ‘Frozen lands’ where we will have a focus on the change in weather over Winter. During the term the children will also have lots opportunities to explore their own interests within this topic including exploring ice and investigating polar animals. During the last week of term we will also learn about how the Chinese celebrate their New Year.
Within literacy we continue blending out sounds and using our phonic knowledge to read and write simple regular words as well as introducing more ‘tricky words’. We will also continue to learn our new sounds., which we will add to your child’s Yellow book as we introduce them. In our Maths work we will be thinking about Number bonds within 5 and then Numbers to 10. PE will continue to be on a Wednesday. Please ensure your child has a named PE kit in school at all times.
Many thanks for your continued support. Please remember if you have any questions you can send an email via the School Office. Don’t forget to look out on Class Dojo too to see the exciting things we are doing in the Flamingos this term!
