Term 2

Welcome to Term 2!

This term our theme is Viva La France ou U.K?

What a busy fun-packed term we have ahead of us.

In English, our focus will be upon persuasion texts. We will be looking at the structure and features of advertisements and posters, before writing our own to advertise London. We will also be learning about the refugee crisis and writing a formal letter to the Prime Minister! In our BEAR sessions, we will be reading The boy at the back of the class by Onjali Rauf.

In Maths, we will be learning about addition and subtraction. We will be using manipulatives in the form of part-whole models, number lines, and base 10 to support our learning. Later in the term, we will be learning about multiplication and division.

In Geography, we will be exploring the similarities and differences between France and Britain. We will consider the characteristics and topography of both countries. We will also evaluate how the processes of globalization and migration have led to the U.K and France being multicultural societies.

In Science, we will be learning about light.  We will be participating in a range of scientific enquiry to answer our enquiry question: How does light help us see things?

In RE, our inquiry question is: What is the Trinity? We will be learning about the importance of Angel Gabriel.

In PSHE, we will be learning about what keeps us safe. We will learn about how to keep our bodies safe, and how to respond in an emergency.

In DT,  we will be creating our own shell structures, in order to design packaging for Cadburys chocolate boxes.

In PE, our topics this term will be Invasion Games ( Netball) and Gymnastics. Our P.E days will be Monday and Thursday this term.
