Term 2
Traditional Tales

Welcome to Term 2 everyone.
I think this has to be my favourite term. So many exciting things to learn about and of course - Christmas is just around the corner!
Remember to make sure that you have warm clothing as we will be accessing our outside classroom daily.
This term the Robins will learn about different celebrations.
We will start the term by learning about Bonfire Night. Why and how do people celebrate it?

We will learn about Armistice Day and why we remember it each year.

We will also learn about the Christmas story. We will learn about family traditions and what Christians believe happened at Christmas. We will also perform our own Christmas nativity- how exciting!

This term we will be learning about different traditional tales such as 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and 'Three Billy Goats Gruff'.
We will be exploring new vocabulary in these stories and retelling them using a puppet theatre and role play.

We will continue to learn more set 1 sounds from Fred. We will continue to make words on our Fred boards and start to read words!
In Maths we will be measuring different things like porridge from Goldilocks and the height of beanstalks.

We will start P.E with Mrs Treagus and Mr Aust. The children will focus on balancing and ball skills.

What a busy term we are going to have. Keep being amazing Robins!
