Term 3
Happy New Year Kestrels! Welcome to 2026! I can't believe it is Term 3 already! We have another busy term coming up but it promises to be a good one. This term we have Mrs Copley joining us to do a term of teaching practice. We are very much looking forward to working with her this term.
In English we will be using the story Stone Age Boy as a stimulus for writing a diary entry and a historical narrative. This text ties in nicely with our History learning this term as will be looking at life in the Stone, Bronze and Iron ages and we will be answering the question "How did Britain change during prehistory?". In Maths our main focus will be on multiplication and division and we will be starting to learn the 3, 4 and 8 times tables as part of our learning in this unit.
In Science our focus will be on rocks, fossils and soils and we will be finding out about Mary Anning as part of this learning.
In Art we are going to be creating our own pieces of art work inspired by the artist Carolee Clark and in R.E. we will be looking at the deeper meaning of festivals in a selection of world religions.
In term 3 our P.E. days have changed to a Wednesday and a Thursday.
I can't wait to get started - how about you! See you all again on Monday 5th January! ![]()
