Term 5
What's at the bottom of the garden?
It is so lovely to be seeing lots more sunny days now we are in Spring. The children are enjoying exploring the outdoor classroom and our lovely wild garden.
We will continue to explore in our garden and help to develop it by creating a vegetable and flower patch. We will also be observing and finding out more about minibeasts. How can we care for them? What do they eat? Where do they live? What minibeasts live in our garden at school at home?
We will be listening to our whole class stories such as: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Mad about Minibeasts and Sam Plants a Sunflower. We will learn new vocabulary and the meaning of the words.
Fred has taught us all of our sounds now so we will continue to recap them all and focus on using special friends in words and read sentences.
We will also continue to learn how to use this sounds to write words and write simple sentences.
In Maths we will continue to learn our characters in Ten Town. We will then practise how to write all of the numbers we have learnt trying to start and end in the right place.
We will also practise counting up to and past 20, understanding composition of numbers to 10 e.g. 7 is 5 and 2 more and compare numbers to 10.
