Ketton C of E Primary School

Year 6

Dear Parents/Carers,

Please find below a weekly menu of a variety of activities, including Maths, Reading and Writing, for your child to complete whilst they are learning from home.  I have planned a balance of activities so that your child's learning is not impacted by these difficult times.

If you have any questions please email the school office with the subject line: Learning from home.  We will respond to you as soon as we can.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss Boothby

Week Beginning 13th July

The last week for Group B!  Wow, what a year!  I can not believe we are here already and that Group B children will be spending their last days in primary school on Thursday and Friday.  Due to this, I will only be uploading the Maths work this week and I will send Group A home with their English work.

Have a great week everyone!

Week Beginning 6th July

Week Beginning 29th June

Please find below this week's work.  I have added the slides that the children need to complete for their digital Year 6 Leaver's Book.  Please could this be completed electronically then send to the office - this will allow me to convert it into a digital flipbook for the children.  I would also like to remind everyone of the video clip deadline of Monday 6th July - this will make a lovely keepsake for all the children once it is complete.

Have a good week everyone!

Week beginning 22nd June

Please find this week's work below.  A gentle reminder for Group B: remember to complete last week's English lessons 3, 4 and 5.  Complete this week's Maths lessons.  I hope everyone has a good week and please remember to contact me on Class Dojo if you need any help.

Week Beginning 15th June

Please find work for the week below.  As always, if you have any questions, please send me a message via class Dojo or through the office email.  Have a good week everybody.

Week Beginning 8th June

Just a reminder that children in all groups should be completing the daily maths lessons on the days they are set; only home learners should be completing the transition work at home; English work should be completed by everyone, however there is a variation of how this is done - Group A will start in school on Monday and their week will run Monday to Monday, but Group B will start this work on Thursday and their week will run Thursday to Thursday.  The Science work is to be completed at home by everyone.

Please contact the office or myself via Dojo if you have any queries.

Have a good week everyone.

Week Beginning 1st June

Welcome to Term 6!  The final term of Year 6 and of Primary School.  Wow, where did the time go?  This term I will welcome some of you back into the classroom, but for those who I will not be seeing please find below the work we will be completing in school and then continuing at home.

All children should complete the White Rose Maths lessons.  Those children who are not in school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday should complete the maths lessons at home and the same goes for those who are not in school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
For those children who will be in school I will deliver sessions 1 & 2, so please do not complete these at home.  However, there are options on the 'Getting Ready to Go Big' menu that can be completed at home on the days the children are not in school.

Week Beginning 18.5.20

Welcome to the final week of Term 5!  I have really enjoyed seeing all of your hard work over the last term or so, it has been inspiring to see you all rise the challenge of learning from home.  Keep up all of the hard work and I look forward to seeing what you produce this week.

Week Commencing 11.5.2020

Can you believe this week would have been SATs week!  What a very different week we were all expecting!  Take extra care of each other this week as there may be a few mixed feelings.

Week Commencing 4th May

Hope everyone has had a good week.  We will be continuing with the Art project (Power Point can be found below) I have seen some fabulous art work so far and I cannot wait until the final pieces start to come in.

UPDATE ON MATHS LESSONS: From this week, you will need to follow the weblink for the White Rose Maths videos, but the worksheets for each lesson will be on here (please see below).

Have a good week everyone!

Week Commencing Monday 27th April

Welcome to week two of the summer term.  This week, we will continue with the art project - please use the same Power Point as last week - all other resources for this week can be found below.  I have really enjoyed reading some of your stories and seeing pictures of your enrichment activities.  Please do keep uploading your work onto Class Dojo as much as you can - I really enjoy seeing what you have been up to.

Week Commencing 20th April

Welcome back!  I hope you have all had a nice Easter.  Please find below the learning menu, suggested timetable and resources for this week.  Please upload any examples of work onto Class Dojo.  Have a good week.

During the two week Easter break, I have provided the children with an Easter revision booklet.  This is intended for the children to complete one day of activities for ten days.  Each day's work is designed to only take ten minutes.  The idea is to keep the children going and to revise the Year 6 curriculum for SPaG, arithmetic and reasoning & problem solving.
Here you will find a weekly overview of the learning I would like the children to be completing over the coming weeks.  The resources required to complete these weekly tasks can be found in their home learning packs or on our website.
